Chapter Fourty-Five: Parricidium
Withdrawing his phone, Tyler ran an image search of the knife as he ran out into the street, looking for anything strange that aroused suspicion. A white van ahead had a satellite television logo on but the driving was slightly erratic and a little too fast. Could it be that it was them? Were they really that close? Sprinting down the road, he quickly realised they had the advantage. A child to his right on a bike. Deciding it was worth it, he stood in front of the bike, forcing the child to stop and then lifted them off, taking the bike. “Hey, that’s mine!” “Sorry, I’ll bring it back.” Tyler cycled off as fast as he could, his gaze only focussed on the van that had stopped up ahead at the lights. Behind, he heard people shout but he had to do this. His mum’s life could be at stake. Pulling the handlebars as he came off the edge of the curb, he managed to jump over a man poking his head out of a sewage hole. The car wasn’t getting too far ahead in the traffic, but he wasn’t making

“We’re ready.” Tyler looked around the group and knew he spoke for everyone. “Okay, follow me to the computer room.” “I’ll just grab my hat.” Rori pulled the dirty grey beanie onto her head as they filed out of the room and then placed her palm on Talmon’s back. “Together, don’t forget.” “Where, exactly, will we emerge when we return to the Real World?” Tyler asked as they walked along the hallways that had been home the past few days. “You’ll appear in the park where I first met you all. After that…” Gimi pulled open a door to a room and stepped inside, turning back to face them. He winked. “Surprise me.” He spun back and continued into the room, which was filled with several computers. Each displayed live footage from a different area. Presumably these were where he had met each of the Chosen under his care. The distinction between Chosen and Digidestined was one that perplexed Tyler and Gimi never fully explained. It seemed that all Digidestined were Chosen but the reverse

Rori looked at them all as their partners were treated in the other room along with Orchidemon. “I should have come. You’re all worse off because I stayed here.” Internally, she was in turmoil. She had to save her energy and get better but seeing people get hurt and feeling their pain hurt her as much as any weapon could.
“I’m not lugubrious about leaving you here, Rori. The Resistance reached it’s climax and no we must all away to our homes.”
“Even though you won?” Rori looked over at Alex. She had to find out just how he had made Felismon reach Ultimate before they parted. “It wa

Taran looked back to see if Matt and Mimi were still there but he was entirely alone. Climbing to his feet and shivering due to the cold he rushed up towards his front door but stopped just short, staring at the orange glow that spilled out through the frosted window. Would they really take him back just like that? All this time and they hadn’t found him. He had been everywhere and tried so hard to get home and yet he hadn’t even heard of them looking for him. Did they even realise he was missing?
Inside he heard laughter. Maybe that wasn’t where he was allowed to be any more now he had been dragged into this strange new wo

Zalyea vaulted over a fallen log as they charged through the forests. Their footsteps pounded the ground almost as fast as their hearts pounded in their chests. The unspoken fear that they could find him too late spurred them all on despite any drama they might have.
“Alex may not survive much longer.” Idomon’s head materialised next to Tyler, flying along after them.
“Thanks for that!” Corinne yelled sarcastically.
“Don’t yell at him!” Tyler snapped.
Zalyea glanced back and rolled her eyes. “Gaimon, ignore these fools. Go, go, go!”
The little green frog Digimon leapt into the a
The wind whistled past, tickling her body as they looked at each other. “Tyler, I’m sorry, but I… I just don’t feel the same way.”
“No,” He twiddled his thumbs, unable to make eye contact. “I know.” Tyler had never been so lost for words, it was strange. He looked up eventually, his pale blue eyes encapsulating her, and he smiled a little but it fell away quickly. “I knew that this would happen; and I ensured myself that, possibly, if I admitted my feelings then everything would come to a positive conclusion.” He half-smiled. “How wrong was I?”
Corinne felt furious

Amber light from the window to his right draped the unpleasant room with its glow. The window was lacking a pane, so the sunrise’s warmth was especially striking. The floor beneath him was littered with rubbish and rubble, with various spotlights made from holes in the ceiling above highlighting certain objects as if it were a gameshow; a broken gun, a blood-stained knife and a child’s teddy bear. Dust had settled across them all, and everything else in the room, giving everything a dull appearance to it all. In the distance, there was loud explosions and the sounds of planes overhead occasionally. The booms of the planes shook hi

The wooden doors slid open with a loud bang. “Hallo, hallo, hallo! One and all, I come bearing gifts great and small!” Gimi was stood with a long metal trolley that had thirteen plates. He wheeled it in and then staggered backwards. “The air is funky in here. What happened last night?”
Alex glanced over at Rori and then back at Gimi. “N— nothing!” he stammered.
“Talmon is still absent I see.” Gimi lifted a metal cloche off one of the dishes and lifted the plate up. With a flash, it vanished into thin air and then he continued pushing the trolley into the room. “Rightio, who’s

With a flash, they appeared in Gimi’s house, being almost thrown out of the hurried Digiportal.
Leomon landed on a sofa with a loud thud and groan as the crimson sofa struggled under his cumbersome frame.
“We’ve never ported this perfectly,” Tyler muttered, looking around. He noted that they had the extra Digivice of Rori’s, however Aleena’s hadn’t helped too much previously so there had to be another factor at play.
“Digital Anchor.” Gimi got up from a green chair across from them. His kimono was navy blue in colour today. “Like a homing beacon for you to catch on to.” Gim

The intense heat bore through his body immediately like needles made of fire. Taran looked up and saw a powerful sun beating down on him from above, looking even bigger than usual, and then felt sand swirl into his face. He wrinkled his nose. This place was nasty. Where even were they? They had just been somewhere grassy and now this was a desert. What was going on? Was this man magic? Could he pull a rabbit out of his hat? Taran looked up at Matt, feeling a foreboding presence emanating from him.
“I bet you’re wondering what happened.” Matt unzipped his black jacket. “Whew, it’s warm.” He fanned his hand
